CSI Holdsworth Memorial(Mission) College of Nursing, Mysuru, is a premier nursing institution committed to excellence in nursing education and healthcare training. Recently my sister had been through a surgery and the surgery was a great success. I appreciate the doctor's patience and guidance towards the staff throughout the whole process.

I admitted my mother-in-law to Mission Hospital and the experience has been extremely disappointing from the very beginning. I am writing this detailed review so that other families do not go through the same struggle we faced.
1. No Transparency in Charges
From the moment of admission, the hospital kept changing the cost.
• We were first told the room charge would be ₹10,000 per day.
• Later they changed it to ₹15,000 per day without any proper explanation.
• Even the general ward cost was ₹9,000 per day, which is too high for the kind of service they provide.
If a general ward is so expensive, then what exactly is the difference between general and ICU charges? There is absolutely no clarity, and they keep shifting the amounts.
2. Poor Cleanliness & Lack of Basic Hygiene
Cleanliness is not maintained at all. Floors are dirty, washrooms are not cleaned properly, and there is no proper sanitization. For the kind of money they charge, the hospital environment is extremely disappointing.
3. No Proper Doctors Available
There were no doctors available most of the time. Everything was handled by staff nurses who were doing their best, but proper medical guidance was missing. My mother-in-law did not receive the timely treatment she needed.
4. Forcing Unnecessary Tests Only to Increase the Bill
This was the most shocking part.
In a single day, they asked us to do:
• Multiple X-rays
• CT scans
• Blood tests
For the same pain, they were forcing us to do 3–4 X-rays on the same day. This clearly looked like money-making and not genuine medical treatment. Hospitals should treat patients, not treat them like revenue targets.
5. Very Rude Behaviour in ICU
In the ICU, one of the doctors behaved extremely rudely.
If we asked anything about the patient’s condition, the doctor would shout at us saying:
“You signed the paper. We are not responsible.”
Instead of guiding and supporting worried family members, we were blamed and talked to disrespectfully. This kind of attitude is unacceptable in any hospital.
6. Appreciation for Dr. Samyuktha and Dr Mohan
Among all this, I would like to appreciate Dr. Samyuktha from the casualty department. She was the only doctor who treated us with respect, explained things clearly, and provided proper care. Her professionalism and kindness truly stood out. And also Dr Mohon sir a very Senior and old Doctor Who guided us and give confident and responded to calls even on Sunday in that age is serving patient. It’s very appreciable..
Overall Experience
For the high charges collected, the service quality is extremely poor.
There is:
❌ No transparency
❌ No cleanliness
❌ No proper doctor availability
❌ No proper treatment
❌ Unnecessary tests just to increase the bill
❌ Rude behaviour from some ICU staff
This has been one of the worst hospital experiences for our family.
I do not recommend Mission Hospital to anyone looking for honest and responsible medical care.

Recently, one of my friend got admitted in Mission hospital who undergone surgery Fistulectomy and internal sphincterotomy operated by Dr. Reuben (best surgeon)

The oldest hospital in Mysore run by the CSI and wesslian church. A missionary hospital with contribution from the Maharaja of Mysore and the Foreign missionaries this hospital was once a very famous hospital for its nursing staff and good and dedicated medical professionals and a fan following of patients. Over time with the advent of corporate hospitals and staff union issues, the popularity waned and is in the decline now. The medical records have been maintained meticulously since centuries.
